An out-of-this-world city in Andalusia. "Some streets don't reach the sun"

Halfway between Malaga and Seville is one of the most fascinating places in Andalusia, and perhaps even in all of Spain. We are talking about Setenil de las Bodegas, whose unusual location has become a popular tourist attraction. Some of the residents' houses are located in the rock walls of the gorge. "It's a town hidden under a mushroom-shaped stone boulder," says Agata from the Account Travelers channel.
This is a place in Spain you must visitWhen visiting Andalusia, you can't miss Malaga, Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba or Ronda - these are the undisputed pearls of Southern Spain. However, there is one place that many tourists have not heard of yet, and which is definitely worth discovering this spring. We are talking about the small town of Setenil de las Bodegas, inhabited by three thousand people. The town is famous for its white houses, some of which were built into the rock walls of the Rio Trejo river gorge. "The rocks are part of the houses. Some of these houses don't even have a roof, because their function is performed by a stone mushroom," reports a Polish tourist.
Cooling down on a hot dayVisiting Setenil de las Bodegas is a good idea not only in spring, but also during the hot summer. Hiding in the coolness of the rock is a good idea for those who don't like the Spanish heat. "It's automatically 10 degrees colder there, and it's also more humid. Interestingly, some of these streets don't even get the sun," we hear in a video published by Account Travelers.
Setenil de las Bodegas is easiest to reach by car – the journey from Malaga will take around 1.5 hours, and the trip from Seville will take around 15 minutes longer. There are also direct buses from Malaga, but the trip will take over three hours each way. You can also get to Setenil by direct train from Antequera-Santa Ana.
